AntiPlagio to be revamped for EducaRed

Silicon Artists is now developing a brand new version of AntiPlagio for integration into EducaRed’s new global portal. Since 2005, AntiPlagio has been a flagship plagiarism detection tool designed for teachers at the secondary and university level. The tool allows teachers to instantly analyse work submitted by their students, checking for material copied from the Internet. The new AntiPlagio will have a brand new web interface, will index more sources and have full single-sign on integration with the new portal.

EducaRed is Fundación Telefónica’s initiative targeted at the secondary education community in eight different countries.

En estos momentos, Silicon Artists está desarrollando una nueva versión de Antiplagio dentro del nuevo portal global de Educared. Desde 2005, AntiPlagio ha sido el buque insignia en las herramientas de detección de plagio diseñada para profesores de Secundaria y Universidad. Les permite analizar de forma inmediata los trabajos presentados por sus estudiantes, comprobando cualquier material copiado de Internet. El nuevo AntiPlagio tendrá un nuevo interfaz, indexará más fuentes y tendrá una autenticación de usuarios integrada con el nuevo portal.

Fundación Telefónica lanza el nuevo Portal Global Educared

Fundación Telefónica ha lanzado hoy el nuevo Portal Global Educared, un proyecto liderado y diseñado por el Director General de Silicon Artists, Simon Birrell. El nuevo portal (www.educared.org) es el resultado del trabajo de dos años en una completa reestructuración uniendo docenas de portales y plataformas tecnológicas de muchos países, unificando así las iniciativas educativas de Telefónica en España y Latinoamérica. El portal fue oficialmente lanzado por Simon Birrell durante la presentación de apertura que realizó en el V Congreso de Educared en Madrid, ante unos 2 000 profesores, especialistas en temas educativos y ejecutivos de Telefónica.

Silicon Artists trabajó con un seleccionado equipo para diseñar una avanzada plataforma tecnológica y una experiencia de usuario intuitiva en el nuevo portal y trabajó con Fundación Telefónica y los desarrolladores de Alvantia para convertir el diseño en realidad. Silicon Artists ha estado íntimamente involucrada con la iniciativa de Educared durante los últimos diez años.

Fundación Telefónica launches EducaRed Global Portal

Fundación Telefónica today launched the new Educared Global Portal, a project led and designed by Silicon Artists CEO Simon Birrell. The new portal (www.educared.org) is the result of a massive two-year restructuring and consolidation of dozens of portals and technological platforms across many countries, that unifies Telefonica’s educational initiatives in Spain and Latin America. The portal was officially launched during a 30 minute keynote presentation by Simon Birrell at the Fifth EducaRed Congress in Madrid before an audience of over 2000 teachers, educational specialists and Telefonica executives.

Silicon Artists worked with a hand-picked team to design an advanced technological platform and intuitive user experience for the new portal, and worked with Fundación Telefónica and developers Alvantia to convert the design into reality. Silicon Artists has been intimately involved with the EducaRed initiative for the last ten years

Educared ha lanzado “Educared Integra” (http://integra.educared.net), una nueva página web orientada a las familias inmigrantes en España y Latinoamérica que necesitan integrar a sus hijos en el sistema educacional del país de acogida. La web y el subyacente Sistema de Gestión de Contenidos han sido desarrollados por Silicon Artists. Educared es la principal iniciativa educativa de Telefónica con presencia en 8 países.

EducaRed has launched “EducaRed Integra” (http://integra.educared.net), a new website target targeting immigrant families in Spain and Latin America that need to move their children into their host country’s education system. The website and underlying Content Management System were developed by Silicon Artists. EducaRed is Telefónica’s major educational initiative, with presence in eight countries.

Virgo Capital invests in iProfile

iProfile, a provider of specialized business intelligence and lead generation services for the enterprise technology industry, and Virgo Capital, a private equity firm focused on the technology-enabled services market, jointly announced that Virgo Capital is leading a major investment in iProfile.

iProfile, which has offices in Palo Alto, California, and London, England, generates in-depth reports covering the IT departments of large US corporations. The reports, which include comprehensive organizational charts and extensive contact information, are used by industry leaders such as Sun Microsystems and Cisco, enterprise software players such as BEA and Cognos, and a range of venture capital funded start-ups. iProfile also covers leading European companies under the Euro-Profile brand name.

The iProfile project is based on a web platform completely developed by Silicon Artists, company that has been collaborating for several years with iProfile. “This partnership with Virgo Capital we are sure is going to be an encouragement in the development of upcoming products and innovations on the current platform,” said Simon Birrell, CEO of Silicon Artists

iProfile, proveedor de información especializada de negocios y servicios de última generación para la industria de la tecnología de empresa, y Virgo Capital, firma de capital privado enfocada a la comercialización de servicios tecnológicos, anunciaron conjuntamente que Virgo Capital se ha convertido en el socio mayoritario de iProfile.

iProfile, que tiene oficinas en Palo Alto (California), y Londres (Inglaterra), genera informes detallados sobre los departamentos de IT de las principales compañías en EEUU. Los informes, que incluyen completos organigramas y amplia información sobre contactos, son utilizados por líderes de la industria, como Sun Microsystems y Cisco, usuarios de software para empresas como BEA y Cognos, y una serie de empresas de capital de riesgo de nueva creación. iProfile también cubre las compañías líderes europeas bajo la denominación Euro-iProfile.
